English Announces $179,243 to 30th District Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Companies
ALLISON PARK – More than $179,243 in grants has been awarded to 16 volunteer fire and ambulance companies in the 30th District, Rep. Hal English (R-Allegheny) announced today.

The grant award, authorized by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner, comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue. Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.

The following is a list of the fire and ambulance companies located in the 30th District with the amount of their grant awards:

  • Bauerstown Volunteer Fire Department, $13,386.18.
  • Elfinwild Volunteer Fire Company, $14,123.37.
  • Fox Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, $13,328.
  • Foxwall EMS, $7,037.40.
  • Hampton Township EMS, $7,037.40.
  • Hampton Township Volunteer Fire Department No. 1, $13,386.18.
  • North Hampton Volunteer Fire Department, $13,570.48.
  • Parkview Volunteer Fire Department, $12,280.41.
  • Parkview EMS, $7,037.40.
  • Parkview EMS Volunteer Fire Department, $11,543.23.
  • Richland EMS Inc., $7,037.40.
  • Richland Township Volunteer Fire Company, $13,939.07.
  • Shaler Area EMS, $7,037.40.
  • Shaler Villa Volunteer Fire Company, $11,911.82.
  • Sharps Hill Volunteer Fire Department, $12,280.41.
  • Undercliff Volunteer Fire Company, $14,307.66.
“These 30th District fire and ambulance companies merit every penny of these grant awards,” said English. “The first responders from these companies go through many hours of specialized training and being on-call to serve us 24/7. I appreciate their devotion to serve others as they voluntarily scramble out of their houses or depart family events to answer an emergency call for help. I thank them for their willingness to risk and sacrifice to assist the residents in our communities.”
